Why have optimal ranges for platelets decreased recently?

The optimal range for Platelets was updated in 2022, and the research and optimal ranges are available in the ODX Research Blog

Yes, we did update the optimal range for platelets.

The lower end of optimal was actually increased from  155 10E3/uL to 264 10E3/uL, while the upper end of optimal remains the same at 385 10E3/uL .

The lower end of the range was updated to reflect the decreased risk of all-cause mortality at the higher level of 264 10E3/uL.

Conventional range is 140 - 400 10E3/uL.

Current ODX optimal range is 264 - 385 10E3/uL
